I have monthly supervision and undertake regular professional development activities, attending conferences, workshops and one-to-one work. A member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am bound by their their Ethical Framework for Good Practice (more information at www.bacp.co.uk).

I have lived in the South Lakes since 1997. A former primary school teacher, I also taught English at Liverpool University and the University of Cumbria before retraining as a counsellor. I love my work and get a great deal of satisfaction from it.

In my spare time I write - I was the South Cumbria Poet Laureate in 2004. I am also a craft bookbinder. I enjoy solo and ensemble classical singing with several choirs in Cumbria and also love Tai Chi, wild swimming and walking our wonderful fells.
